Wow! I can't believe the opposing side broadcast something like that! That is horrible!
I guess I don't find it to be that remarkable. It's run-of-the-mill Anti-Mormon stuff. What's remarkable is the wide audience that it's received, the way that it's been picked up by some very mainstream outlets and the small outcry from the populace. The assault on our temple grounds in LA has received very little media attention. They had to close the temple! I don't like Meridian, as a general rule, but their piece on the treatment of our temple was superb. One of the questions the article, written by a member of the LAPD, asks is: "The temple presidency made a decision to close the temple for the evening. The right decision, but since when do we as Americans stand by – no matter what our religion – while access to a place of worship is forced to close down because of aggressive outside influences?" It's a great question.
