My Faith

We belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and faith is a huge part of my life. It touches everything, and informs so many of the decisions I make. Here are some of the things that I believe:

I believe in God. I believe He is our Father. I believe that He loves me -- and you.

I believe that Jesus Christ is His Son. I believe that He came, He showed us the way, and He made it possible for us to return to live with Him again.

I believe that we lived with God before we were born, and that He has a plan for us. His teaching are found in the Bible. I also treasure the teachings He has given us through The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ.

I believe that life is a precious gift from our Father. That children are entitled to be born into a family that has both a father and a mother. I believe that children are a gift from God. I believe that gender matters, and that God doesn't make mistakes when he creates us as male or female. I believe in marriage between men and women.

I believe that the freedom to choose - we call it agency at church - is one of the greatest gifts of God to man, next to life itself. This means that I believe that destroying freedom is a crime next to destroying life in seriousness. This belief underpins everything that I do politically.

So. What does it all look like in the day-to-day? You can browse through all my posts about Matters of Faith, or you can click through a few of my favorites.
