It's Just Too Bad

How did he do?

I've been wondering about the two party system in America. Does it make it stronger, or weaker? England has a crazy party system...does it make it stronger, or weaker?

It's very frustrating: I haven't been able to find a single artilce about how the 3rd parties did. What with the wedding, I haven't had time to really really search, but you'd think that the 2 or 3 searches that I've done for "3rd party election results" would turn up something.

Personally, I think that the 2 party system makes our country weaker. It's not that hard to get a small number of power-hungry people to contorl both the Democrats & Republicans. It makes it a lot easier to then control the nation. George Washington was opposed to having parties at all, and I'm beginning to think that he may have been on to something.

It just doesn't seem rght that a private coorporation can so completely control the debates, that the media nearly completely refuses to cover the "extra" candidates. I mean, isn't the media's job to get information out? Aren't they supposed to oppose things that Big Brother wants kept secret? What happened to the people's right to know? I hear stories of the way it used to be, but all I see from the Media now is they lick the boots of Obama. The game is completely rigged. Chuck Baldwin never had a chance, not because his position is without merit, not because the people of the United States don't like what he had to say, but because the people of the United States, for the most part, never even knew he existed. He wasn't invited the the "debates" because then someone might have listened to what he had to say. I actually saw that put forth as a reason for not inviting 3rd parties! Inviting them to the debates, the Republican and Democratic candidates acknowledging their existence, would lend them creibility, and we certainly can't have that!! What a crock. The game is completely rigged. It makes me mad. Why is Baldwin or Barr any less important than Huckabee or Romney, or Clinton or any of the other candidates? Why does the media get to decide who is going to get heard? Why do we allow a private company to screen our candidates for us???

I know it, the media completely ignore anyone other than the big 2. They're not exciting enough, I suppose.

How is the wedding going? =) Hopefully you have a wonderful time. (It's this weekend, right?)

If Washington was against a party system....what was he for? I'm trying to imagine politics without a party system and I just can't imagine how that would work.

I've never looked at it that way before, how a private corporation controls the debates. Yikes!

Nah, media is all about money - and therefore ratings matter therefore they have to have DRAMA and therefore why would they bother with other candidates, even if covering them is important to America. They don't care about what's important in America. They're a business. They care about money.

Yeah, that's what Andy tells me. Even Ron Paul - and he was running Republican - was barred from the debates. It's definitely not about what's good for America: it's about maintaining one of two faces of the status quo.

The wedding went really well. It was almost drama-free (from where I was sitting). I took a bunch of pictures which I need to download and post and burn to disks for distribution to various family members. I really enjoyed it & Kate & John are extremely happy.

I finally went to look for the debate organizer this morning. It's worse than a business: the Republicans & Democrats control it. It's not in their best interest to allow folks that won't toe their line, whether they be like Ron Paul, working within the party but not conforming to the party, or like Bob Barr & Chuck Baldwin, working without the party. Any of those people would be a threat to their power. So they exclude them. And We The People let them.

Here's the link.

YAY! =) I'm so happy the wedding went well. =) Will you be posting pictures?

Yes, pictures will be forthcoming! I haven't got them off my camera yet. In fact, I'm such a slacker that I haven't even looked at my camera to see how many pictures my brother took while I was busy.

But I have done 3 loads of laundry.
I'm about to make a grocery list.
And I wrote my 3 federal representatives & demanded they look into the Obama citizenship thing.
We also bought flannel sheets for the munchkin's bed.

Dang! I can't believe the amount of stuff you get done! =D

Mmmmm, flannel sheets. Those sound so toasty to me. Getting into bed last night was brrrrrrr.
