Bags: Complete

I am making another with larger squares; these are cut at 2 inches. The new bag's squares will be 3 inches, and done in blues & purples with a tan bottom. Got the fabric picked out and cut and I'm all ready to go, but I decided that if I do the sewing when I'm this tired I'll make dumb mistakes that I'll just have to unpick later. So I'm blogging about it instead. Good thing I have a spell checker. I'm really tired tonight.

Oh. I used Pink Penguin's Fabric Basket tutorial. It's a nice one. And it makes pretty bags. Plus, she links to a truly wonderful box corner tutorial.

Just hopped over from WR. I really like what you've done with the piecing here. Very cute! And the colors look lovely together.

Woot! Those look really great! Are the squares from recycled clothing too?

Thanks Stephanie! I had fun making them. I think I want to do another, larger one, but I'm not sure what I'll do for the denim. Maybe find a denim jumper at goodwill, because this is about as large as pant legs can handle.

The squares are (alas) not from recycled clothing. I had some of the fabric for the squares in my stash, and some of it was some fat quarters that I bought for the project. I just didn't have very much orange, yellow, or pink in the stash, but I thought those colors sounded so nice together.

Thanks, Trish! I want to make more, so I need to figure out what I need them for...
