New Toy Tool

My hand mixer broke a few weeks ago. This hasn't been a huge problem, but I do have a bit of a project coming up: I'm making 200 cookies for my brother's wedding reception, and Mom, Maulbeere and I will be decorating them. When Andy heard me talk about who I might be able to borrow a mixer from, he took things into his own hands.

Monkey was very clear: he wanted to be there for the Opening Ceremonies. Not that he called them that.

First, we liberated the splash guard. Next, Monkey found the Owner's Manual.

We got it all unpacked and cleared a space for it on the counter.

Now the big question is, "What to cook first?" Monkey is excited to help, whatever it we decide to make!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Kitchenaid!
I got it 17 years ago, and I'd be lost without it!
Did I mention I LOVE my Kitchenaid? :P

Yeah, I'm pretty excited about it. The model we were considering at first didn't have a splash guard, so that's actually pretty exciting too, even though it makes a kind of blah picture. I'm thinking that maybe tomorrow is the day to start on those 200 sugar cookies! It is, after all, the thing that prompted the purchase new toy!

(Doncha just love the blurry line between "tool" and "toy?")

That is awesome! What a great husband you have! I'd love to get me a green one someday.

Trust me. You will LOVE it. If you can imagine I use mine ALL the time.

I can absolutely imagine! You do a lot of from-scratch. I've been moving more and more in that direction. It's been more work, but less money and less chemicals. I'm looking forward to the spoiling to come, getting used to the new mixer! I notice in Andy's projects that when he gets better tools the quality of his work goes up. I'm hoping to see something similar happen for me!
