I am a Dirt Nerd

At least, that's what my husband tells me. I've been working on a second batch of plants for the garden this year. Last time I planted mostly vegetables. This time it's mostly flowers. But in the process of adding to the tray of starts that I did last week, I noticed that we have already got sprouts. And I got a bit excited about it. Perhaps a little giddy. I sorta dove for the camera. I think I may have clapped & jumped up and down just a little bit, though I don't really remember. This is what made me so happy. My "bunching onions" have sprouted.

Yours too! The braiding onions and green onions are peeking out of the ground in my garden, they're so cute!

Hooray for friends who love dirt! Our crocuses just poked their leaves up...and then got iced! I'm hoping their cold weather genes keep them alive! :)

My crocuses are still buried under a foot or more of snow, but we're starting to see some melting going on, so maybe one of these days they'll poke their heads up too. If spring is coming to you guys, then eventually it'll work its way up here too!

Oh, I get it! It's a beautiful thing, isn't it? I love that moment of discovering the SEEDS WORKED! I get all giddy too, jumping around and calling everyone to come and see the tender sprouts. Congratulations. From one dirt nerd to another. :)

Yep - that's pretty much how it went. I was pretty excited. And now I keep checking them every day... are they thirsty? Do they need sunshine? Are any more peeking at me???
